An established banking brand with a solid and highly successful track record of sustained growth over the last 15 years, this global bank continues its growth strategy. We are now helping our client recruit for a VP Credit Risk Management with experience in Real Estate transactions. This role will lead the independent assessment and oversight of real estate lending transactions, ensuring alignment with the Bank's risk appetite and regulatory standards; providing expert credit judgment, and constructive challenge, to balance commercial delivery with disciplined risk management. - A candidate with a minimum of 5 years of experience working in an analytical role in a major financial institution or relevant experience with a ratings agency covering commercial real estate.
- Good knowledge of lending structures encompassing appropriate risk factor identification, cash-flow analysis, stress-testing as well as familiarity with documentation and market trends.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Responsibilities / Tasks / Coverage:
- Apply disciplined risk assessment to new transactions.
- Assessment and management of a diverse portfolio across multiple jurisdictions and sectors including: office, logistics, retail and residential, including problem assets.
- Support other Credit teams as necessary, especially Securitisation & Lender Finance, which sit within the same vertical.
- Partner with Front Office to deliver client outcomes while maintaining strong credit quality and aligned risk appetite.
- Articulate risk views in line with policy, engaging with clients, advisers, and consultants to understand transactions and sectors.
- Proactively monitor underperforming credits, anticipating deterioration and supporting effective workout strategies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across EMEA, HQ, and regional credit teams on commercial and risk matters.
